Is it impossible to get your heart broken when you are in love? Funnily enough it’s your loved ones that do the most damage. That leave a scar on your soul.

“If you love them you will forgive them no matter what, you will always forgive them”.

This can be true but for the scar to fade and to absolve the love that wielded the blade; that person would have to ask for it. Be sorry for the pain caused, instead of wielding more blades – Hacking to the bone.
Forgiveness must be given; in the name of compassion; but it can only be given to those that need it. Those that seek it out. It cannot be demanded. It can only be absolute.

And for the bearer of the scar; who hopes that it is the wielder who is asking, who is seeking that forgiveness every time an unknown caller beckons; it is he who must carry the pain. It is another part of him that dies every single time that hope is denied.

Self doubt, self blame; these are the infections that come along with that scar; but these must have a limit – Or there will be no soul left to scar or heal.
